The Friendship Project  

The U.S. Surgeon General has declared loneliness and isolation an epidemic. Friends and Community are terms that have come to be interpreted as anything and nothing in the era of social media and virtual life. We'll explore what we know (and what I'd like to learn!) about identifying, building, and maintaining friendships as adults and why groups of friends are vital to both individual well-being and society.

Lauren Collier, PhD

Lauren Collier identifies as a practical academic, a thinking do-er, a human-centered strategist, and an empathetic advocate. She is an educator, a researcher, a coach, and a change agent, with a career leading higher education change and consulting with governments and organizations to develop training and technology. In her real life, she loves house swapping to live like a local in new places, walk/talking with friends, cooking and practicing yoga.
