A shareholder at the Law Offices of John Day, P.C., Laura has devoted more than 19 years to representing clients in personal injury, wrongful death, and tort litigation across Tennessee.

A respected leader in the legal community, Laura is a Past President of both the Nashville Bar Association—the state’s largest metropolitan bar association—and the Lawyers’ Association for Women.

Laura's professional achievements have been widely recognized: The Best Lawyers in America as honored her as a leading attorney in Personal Injury Litigation, and the Nashville Business Journal has named her to its “Best of the Bar” list for ten years. Since 2013, Laura has been recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyer in Personal Injury and has earned distinction as one of the Top 50 Nashville Super Lawyers and Top 100 Tennessee Super Lawyers for six years running. In 2021, she was named one of the Nashville Business Journal’s “Women of Influence” for her impact on the legal profession and the broader community.

A lifelong Nashvillian, Laura graduated from St. Henry School and Father Ryan High School before earning her undergraduate degree from Rhodes College in Memphis and her law degree from the University of Tennessee. She and her husband, J.T. Baker, Senior Business Intelligence Analyst at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, have two children who attend St. Matthew Catholic School.
