Going with the Flow: The Importance of Flow Cytometry Assays in Clinical Trials

PRESENTATION SUMMARY

New treatments for diseases must undergo clinical trials to assess their safety and efficacy before they are brought to market. Flow cytometry is one of the primary techniques used in clinical trials to evaluate a patient’s response to a new drug. Labcorp and other central laboratories develop and validate custom flow cytometry assays and perform high-throughput testing of patient samples for clinical trials. During this talk, I will introduce the technique of flow cytometry and explain how it helps researchers in central laboratories develop life-saving treatments for cancer and chronic diseases.
